    On behalf of the Battle River Animal Protection Society, President Laura Houseman and "Zack" accept a donation from BRCF Director David Ofrim. The grant will go towards Veterinarian expenses as well as food and shelter.
  • 11C38 Special Olympics
    BRCF Director James Mayer presents a donation to Brad Lyseng, James McGillivray, Craig Steinwand and Graham Wideman, Special Olympics Board Member and Coach. This donation will help with expenses for a Special Olympics event in St. Paul.

    Executive Director Kerry Grettum presents a donation to Angela Lordente, Director of the Bittern Lake Community Association Hall Board for Hall Improvements.
  • 11F12 Hardisty Cemetery
    Alan Parkin, CAO for the Town of Hardisty accepts a cheque from BRCF Past Chair Ken Drever for maintenance for the Hardisty Cemetery.
  • Professional Advisors 2011
    Professional Advisor's Luncheon held in May, 2011 at the Camrose Railway Museum. This year's event will be on May 9th also at the Museum. Last year's event was sponsored by Electro-Tel Communications Ltd.

Your Foundation in Action

The Battle River Community Foundation serves an area that stretches from Camrose west to Gwynne, south to Bashaw and Alliance, east to Hughenden and north to Highway 14.

Individuals and organizations from all areas are encouraged to consider the Foundation as a source of funding for projects and activities related to education, health, arts and culture, recreation and more.

Applications for grants are accepted each fall. Flow-through grants, which are given by an individual or organization to the Battle River Community Foundation for the sole purpose of being sent directly to a specific organization, can be made at any time.

BRCF Highlights

The Battle River Community Foundation was established in 1995 to help build strong communities in east central Alberta, through grants from the endowment funds it manages.



In its 17 year history, the Foundation has granted $1,400,000 back to the communities it serves.

In its most recent round of grants based on applications received, $180,778 was granted in 2011.
